The CWA Local 7270 meeting was held on October 10th, 2021 at the Lakeville, MN Holiday Inn.  Thank you to everyone who attended.  President Mark Doffing is retiring this month

, so Carson Turnquist will take over as President.  Nominations were opened for the office of Vice-President.  Andy Queen nominated Mark Page.  There were no other nominations.   Mark Page accepted the nomination and through the process of acclamation will become the new Vice-President.   Nominations were also taken for an open position on the bargaining committee.  Janelle Schadt was nominated.   There were no other nominations.   Janelle Schadt accepted the nomination and through the process of acclamation will become the new bargaining committee member.  Congratulations to Mark and Janelle.

The following information was sent by Dan Reynolds, Assistant Director of Research, Communications Workers of America.  Our President, Mark Doffing, asked for it to be posted on our website.  This is regarding the upcoming MNPUC proceedings.

Hi All –

I wanted to make sure you all saw the PUC order was added to the docket last week.

Here’s the schedule they set for the proceeding:

1. Frontier shall file a proposed protective order within 10 days.

   b. Frontier shall file an informational filing pertaining to virtual separation within

   the scope of this proceeding within 30 days.

   c. 60 days after Frontier’s informational filing , parties should file comments on the

   issues identified for the scope of the proceeding.

   d. 45 days after initial comments, reply comments are due. 9

   e. The Commission delegates to the Executive Secretary the authority to modify any

of the timelines specified above.

It’s that time again folks!  CWA Local 7270 will hold it’s annual State Meeting at the Lakeville Holiday Inn on October 10th

Sales & Service Technician Bob Peterson retires after 24 years of service.  Friends and co-workers gathered at Babe’s in Lakeville Thursday , September 16th to wish him well.  Bob was presented with his gold watch from CWA 7270.  He takes with him many good memories and will miss the good people he had the pleasure of working with.  And we will miss him in the field.  Congratulations Bob and best wishes on your retirement!

The tentative agreement for the company’s proposed 1 year extension of our current contract has been ratified.   The election committee met tonight and counted the ballots.  The results have been recorded.   Thank you to our Bargaining Committee and Election Committee for all your efforts.   And thank you to the members who made their voices heard by returning their ballots.
